You’ve been through a 2-month break, you can say that you have routine in coming backs too.
Unfortunately it is true, there were some painful breaks in my career, from where I had to return.
And how is returning going now? From the sides it seems that you didn’t even take a break.
Yes, I feel a lot better than when I restarted after Boldizsár. On the one side, that was a longer break, and I skipped the summer preparation which is very important in our condition. Now it was only 6 weeks, being allowed to do nothing, then I could slowly get back to training.
How is your ankle? Do you feel any pain?
My doctor said right at the beginning that I would need 8 weeks but I didn’t want to believe this, I wanted to come back sooner. But it was proven during the check ups that I still feel the pain and my doctor didn’t let me return. Now I’m back in work and I train as hard as I in my 20’s when we were fighting for the first Champions League victory.
Really? Is your motivation the same?
Yes, nothing has changed in this sense. Some years ago I had a season when I did the hardest trainings ever. After training with the team, I did extra training too. I felt I was in my greatest form ever. This time, Karl Erik Böhn arrived and boosted us. Now I feel similarly. I want to achieve my old for and I’m working on it so much. I do the training with the team then I go to train with Holanek Zoltán our recreational trainer. These trainings are very variable: gym, TRX, and special preventative exercises. Besides these, I had extra trainings with Ambros. We did a lot of attacking and defense exercises together. It was not easy because on the one hand to stop a man is even harder than a big female player, on the other hand Ambros is in a great form. Many times, I feel that I’m gonna die because of the hard trainings but it feels good that I can do it.
Is it different to live this life with a child? How can you relax?
Frankly, I don’t understand this either. Back then, when we had 2-3 trainings I needed to sleep during the day besides the night sleep. Now I can’t even dream of because of Boldizsár. When I go home between trainings, he is the first, I’m a mom and a housewife, it’s impossible to sleep. I can sleep at night, but mothers are programmed to wake up to their baby’s voice, so deep sleeping is gone too. I don’t know how I can do this but I think it is because of Boldizsár, he makes me live again when she smiles at me after a long and tiring day.
Does your routine help?
Of course, it counts a lot. I can see match situations clearer than, let’s say, 10 years ago. I’m mentally trained by the successes and defeats during my career, I know that you can stand up anytime, you have to keep going and doing your thing.
Now the play-offs and the Champions League Quarter Final are coming. As being a part of the team again, what do you see? Is the team together?
Despite the reduction in number, I feel that the core that remained makes a good team. The new players work with unbelievable motivation, since they came to the ETO to win a Champions League. We, who have experienced this fantastic feeling, are boosted by the urge to feel it again. It’s important how members will come back from that training camp, it meant a lot in January too, the foreigners got boosted at the World Championship. I’m expecting the Hungarian players to be in perfect form resulting even greater work at the club.
We are going to play against our biggest national opponent. Is Fradi beatable 6 times?
We have to beat them. I think we don’t have to over think this. We will play against them many times but we will have other really tough matches too, and I see these matches as a whole. We have to prepare for the next one. I don’t mind having hard times sometimes if we can take back every trophy. That’s why I’m working so much to contribute to the team’s success.
