ETO is thorugh a long journey again, they played against Debrecen in the 17th round of the K&H Women’s Handball League. The match started hard, but they could increase their 6-goal lead in the 2nd half. Gonzalez also scored her first goal as an ETO player and the team collected two points.
Final result: 23-33.

1st half
The match started with the combination of Görbicz, Groot, Oftedal, Broch, Tomori, Bódi and Kiss at the net. The first goal was scored by Depotovic, then Tomori equalized, but the opponent scored another one. Oftedal equalized again, then the ding-dong fight started. The opponent took the lead and Ambros Martin requested time out in the 9th minute. After this, Győr’s goal machine started to work, Oftedal, Groot, Kendlikova scored, then Groot equalized and with Hansen’s goal ETO took the lead (7-8). Then Fodor, Groot and Hansen increased the difference to 4. After Groot’s next goal, the home team could score after a 12 minute long silent period, the half ended with a 9-15 result.

2nd half
The first goal of this half was also scored by the home team. But the girls were unstoppable and they kept scoring until they increased the lead to 7 (11-18). The goal machine kept working and 4 more goals were scored while the home team could only score one. (12-22). There was a fierce fight between the teams and the goals were scored on both sides, in the last 10 minute the result was 19-27. Hansen increased the difference to 10 and the opponent failed to reduce or equalize so it stayed until the end.
Final result: 23-33.

Ambros Martin: “It was a tough match against a really good team even if they have two seriously injured players. They did a really good job mainly in the first 15 minutes, after this, however, we could re-organise our defense and attack. They didn’t give up in the second half either, they fought until the end. This was a realy fair encounter and the youth could get the opportunity to play from both teams. Congratulations to Debrecen.”

Anne Mette Hansen: “I enjoyed the game, and I’m happy about my today’s performance, after a long recovery period, I want to continue the way I did before”

Vida Gergő: “Congratulations to Győr. I think, it was obvious that they are in a tough period though a lot of matches. We were trying to take advantage of this, we played a fair match with them. I’m also happy because our team work worked really well to replace our two injured players. I was happy about the good performance of the youth.”

Tóvizi Petra: “When we were patient, we played well. There were situations, however, when we were not and Győr took advantage of this, We didn’t give up, and fought till the end, I enjoyed this match”
