On Sunday, February 6, 2022, in the 12th round of the DELO EHF Champions League, Győri Audi ETO KC will host CSZKA Moscow, with the stakes being not less than the first place in Group B. The match kicks off at 16:00 and will be broadcast live on Sport1.
Our team will continue their Champions League campaign away from home, where they will face CSKA Moscow on Sunday. In the third round of the group őhase, we met the Russian team in the Audi Arena Győr, where we won by ten goals 32 - 22. Our team is unbeaten in all matches in the series since then and we have secured our place in the quarter-finals of the BL. It remains to be seen whether our team will win the group, but a win this weekend will give our favourites an unassailable lead in Group B with two rounds to go.
Sunday's opponents, CSKA, have won five of their 11 games so far, drawing two and losing four, and are fourth in the group. Since our last meeting, the Russian side have played nine times on the international stage. They won to 29 - 28 at home against IK Sävehof and then picked up two points away against Vipers (24 - 27). After that, they played twice at home, where they surprisingly managed only one point in total, first losing to Odense (21 - 28) and then a surprise draw with Krim Ljubljana 21 - 21. The Russian team won 32 - 24 at home to Metz, while they returned from Slovenia with a defeat (24 - 21). In Denmark they drew 27 - 27 with Odense, while in Moscow they lost 28 - 32 to Vipers. And most recently they played IK Sävehof, where they scored 32 - 23 in Sweden.
