We were leading 17-9 in the first half against the Austrian team. The opponent was using 7 court players at the start of the game but the ball landed in the empty goal twice, so they changed back to a 6-player game. The solid defense of ETO forced Hypo to make mistakes enabling our team to score easy goals. Eva was brilliant in goal, saving clear shots and also a penalty. We were attacking until finding clear chances for scoring and to our delight, Duda could score two huge goals from outside.
In the second half we continued where we left off in the first. Our defense remained stable and in the first thirteen minutes we allowed Hypo only two goals, one from penalty throw. Our attacks were spectacular and diverse. Fans could see fast breaks, but also experience some nice solutions against their 6-0 defense. By the end of the match spectators could enjoy entertaining handball, who thanked the girls with a 2-minute standing ovation. We scored 37 goals while Hypo could only succeed 16 times.
Ambros Martin, after the match: „Our inner energy was finally released, we could play truly from our hearts. Our defense was working well, particularly in the second half. We'd like to thank our fans for their continuous support and we are very sorry for not having been able to appreciate it with giving them wins every time. We are going through a tough period, we are fighting against time which is hard to beat. We have a long way to go, but with patience, team unity and persistence we will get over the obstacles one by one. “

I’m so happy because I feel that I've played the best today since recovering from my injury. But the biggest thanks goes to the team, as we had very good defense, especially in the second half. Kovács Ferenc, the coach of Hypo: “We weren’t lucky to be the next opponent of ETO after they lost during the week, because they came back pumped up. The truth is that our team is very young and makes a lot of mistakes against such an experienced team including top players. I’m not dissatisfied, however, since we scored 16 goals in the home of ETO and we were fighting throughout the game. We have different aims than ETO.”
