More than 5000 spectators could watch ETO in the lead except for the first few minutes. The opponent wasn’t accompanied by an organized group of fans so the entire Audi Aréna was dressed in green and shouted ‘Hajrá ETO!’.

The game was played at a very high level, and the defense of both sides was outstandingly aggressive. There were eight two-minute suspensions in total. Győr was the team who could break the defense of Podgorica more effectively and organize their defense. Helpless players in blue could be seen on the court several times while Heidi Löke, Nycke Groot, Eduarda Amorim, and Linn Sulland kept on scoring. On the other end, Kari saved excellently, catching two penalties, many shots from clear situations and the back, providing a stable background for the team.

The match from Dragan Adzic’s point of view: “First of all, let me congratulate Győr on their victory. Both teams had to deal with injuries, but Győr could handle them more successfully. The home team was better; we didn’t perform at a high level in our attacks. We have to play much better in the future to achieve our goals.

Djurdina Jaukovic from the opponent: “ETO played better today, unfortunately, we made a lot of bad shots. We have to play better in future matches.”

Ambros Martin: ”I would like to congratulate my team on their fantastic performance they showed today. They fought a tough battle in a really hard match. Today’s win is the result of the unbelievable amount of work that we have been doing since the beginning of the season. The key to our success was the effective defense and our smart attacks, we knew, everything would depend on this. We could dominate the entire match because of this. I think, we can defeat anybody in the world with a defense of such level.

According to Nycke Groot: “The match was as tough as it looked. We worked a lot on the defense because we knew that that would be the key. We could break Podgorica’s defense with clever play in our attacks. We have to continue on this path and if we can keep up this level, we can achieve our goals.”
