The coaches in the Champions League chose the Audi Arena to be their favorite and since then more people has expressed their opinion about this after the matches in Győr. Not only is it the favorite of coaches and player but of fans too all arounf Europe, and it is proven by the continuously growing number of spectators. When the Arena was opened in 2014, ETO played against Savehof from Sweden in front of full house, in the spring rounds of the season 2014/2015 there were 4500 spectators at the match against Larvik, 4000 at the match against Meltz and 5000 against Nagybánya in the new institution. Including thet Hungarian Championship and Cup matches in spring in 2015 there were 3000 season tickets sold along with 1070 tickets on average per match.


In the season 2015/2016 in autumn the popularity of the matches in Győr kept increasing. The number of season tickets has risen to 3100, and the number of tickets has almost doubled, there were 2090 spectators at an NBI or Champions League match on average last autumn. There were 4600 spectators at the Champions League match against Midtjylland, 4500 spectators at the match against Hypo and 5100 spectators at the match against Vardar which was the peak of the autumn season. The rising tendency keeps continuing, since 3250 season tickets have been sold for the spring season, and we have reached another peak at the match against Buducnost (5200), but there were 5000 fans at the match against Bucharest and 4500 against Savehof. According to the sales records there are fans from distant parts of the country, eg.. Szeged or Eger but many spectators come from abroad to visit Champions League matches.


For the Quarter Final of the Champions League full house is expected against Fradi since the tickets have been already sod for the match on March 26.


The Audi Arena is getting more popular among handball fans, which is not surprising considering the standard and the atmosphere of the matches.
