Csenge was born in Keszthely, and she was exploiting her talent in the National Handball Academy in Balatonboglár, when she got a call from ETO and new doors opened for her in an instant. The young talent had been only dreaming of playing in the colors of Győr, now the dream has come true and she is doing her best to prove.

Tell us something about the beginning of your handball career. When and how did you get to know this sport?
I am basically from a sporty family, my parents played sports, my mother played handball, my father played football, he even worked as a coach in Keszthely, so I also got to know football first. I got tough among boys, then later we decided to chose a little bit more girly sport, and sponge handball came. I trained in Keszthely for several years, then thanks to a summer camp I went to Veszprém.

Do you have any hobby? What do you do in your free time?

I went horse riding earlier what I enjoyed so much – I spent much time with horses, but nowadays due to my studies and handball I can’t find room for it in my schedule. If I have time, I like reading too.

Let’s get to your big opportunity. What was your and your family’s reaction on that particular phone call from ETO?
I have to tell that at a national match in my age group, I caught Ambros Martin’s attention – later when the club started to be interested in me, he remembered me and even the number of goals I scored at that match. I got the call when we were playing a youth match in Győr, then Róth Kálmán called me that the Club was really interested in me and it is the adult team. I was very happy and I still can’t help but smiling. I can’t even believe that I can train here and I can play with these players in one team. My parents also got emotional when they learned about it, they are very proud of me.

You are very young, it’s a huge opportunity to play in Győr with top players in a team. What about studying, did you plan to continue your studies or these events have changed your plans a little?
I have just finished high school, I planned and I am still planning to continue my studies, I am most interested in sport or health related courses. I skip one year now, I want to catch up with the team, they are real professionals, I have a lot to improve and last but not least I would like to improve my command of English.

Although you have spent only some weeks here, how do you like the city?
I have already got used to the new environment and I’m trying to make it as home-like as possible. I like the city, I live in a very good neighborhood, I’m getting used to the transportation too. It’s not new to me to live separate from my parents but it is to live alone. When I was at student hostel during high school, I always had roommates, so it’s strange that I don’t have to adapt to anybody. I’m thinking of bringing my dog because I’m a big animal lover, I have had a rabbit, guinea pig, now we have a puppy who is a real family member in our family.

How did it feel to join the team, did you fit in easily?
I feel that they accepted me really soon, I can turn to anyone, they are very helpful, they talk with me and they praise me sometimes which means a lot to me.

You soon made people remember your name by scoring a great goal against Vasas.
While defending, Anita told me to do a good trick, and I agreed of course, I was really happy that I could score. I have been dreaming of playing in ETO colors in the best team in the world for a long time- I didn’t think that I would come true so soon. I did it well to wait in the contraction period, because the call came in the last minute.

Is there any player in the team that you wanted to play together for a long time?
Of course, she is Görbicz Anita, I grew up watching her play. Once I had to introduce someone and I took her picture. I always followed the matches, I have many favourite players, I look up to all of them.

What are your goals in the season?
I would like to catch up with the team and show that I’m not here by accident. I would like to get many opportunities to play, to help the team and to prove that they can count on me. I will work day and night to prove that this is my place, I would like to win a Champions League. I have written a list of my goals and I stick to it, I would like to make everything come true.

What personality features would you say that can help you achieve your goals?
I am hardworking and focused, I have my goals in front of me all the time. I am trying to live consciously and preparing for the training that I can do my best. I would like to improve my physics too.

Are you nervous before matches? Or when you hear the whistle, you can concentrate only the goal?
I was very nervous earlier and it was hard to get over it, but I played a lot of matches in my previous club and in the national team so I had the chance to practice. Nowadays, I am only nervous until I hear the whistle, but I have to admit, among super stars I am nervous even at trainings here. I am really looking forward to the first match of the season, I am going to try to do my best and be calm.

We wish you the best of luck to make your goals come true.
