Vladimir Golovin, the new captain of the Hungarian women's handball team, has announced his first selected players. Four players from Győr were included in the 20-person team, and Krisztina Pigniczki and Zoltán Holanek will assist Master Golovin in the professional staff. The national team is preparing for the European Championship qualification matches in October against Portugal and Slovenia.

On October 1, the national team will meet for the first time with four players from Győr, including Csenge Fodor, Noémi Háfra, Viktória Lukács and Nadine Schatzl, and also Krisztina Pigniczki and Zoltán Holanek in the professional staff. The team will start preparing for Portugal the day after the meeting, which will take place on October 6 in Érd.

The 4th team in the group is Spain. The group's top two teams will advance to the 2022 North Macedonian-Montenegrin-Slovenian co-organized European Championships. The participants of the tournament are the defending champion Norway as well as the organizing countries.
