At the beginning of October, there will be European Championship qualifiers across Europe. All the players of Győri Audi ETO KC won with their national team on Wednesday.
Our club will be represented by 10 players at the European Championship qualifiers from October 4-10, 2021. On yesterday's matchday, 6 October, the Hungarian national team defeated Portugal 34 - 24 after back-to-back halves by 10 goals in the first match of the tournament. Viktória Lukács scored 6 goals and Noémi Háfra 3 goals. Romania won by seven goals, 26 - 19 at home against Faroe Islands, Crina Pintea scored 9 goals in the match.
France played their first qualifying match against the Czech Republic, where the new Olympic champions won 38 - 22.
"On Wednesday we played against the Czech Republic in a qualifying match and we won with a very good game. On Sunday we will play against Ukraine. There is a good atmosphere in the team and we will continue to work together towards our goals." - said our team's goalkeeper Laura Glauser.
The Swedish national team will also play two qualifying matches this week. First they will play against Iceland at home and then Linn Blohm and his team will close the week in Turkey.
"We are preparing in Sweden for the game against Iceland. It will be nice to finally play in front of our fans again, as this is the first game since the start of the Covid 19 outbreak where we can have our fans present. The other match of the week is against Turkey, two games we should win on paper. But I think Iceland have been playing better and better in the past few years. So we have to do a good job to ensure we win." - said our lineplayer.
Anne Mette Hansen, Linn Blohm, Veronica Kristiansen and Silje Solberg will be involved in the national team's seven matches today, 7 October.
