In the 13th round of the DELO EHF Champions League, our team hosted RK Krim Mercator in an early match at the Audi Arena Győr. In the first minutes the match was close, but by the end of the half our team had built up an 8-goal lead. In the second half it was only a question of the extent of the victory, and in the end Győr won 40 - 27.

Ambros Martín couldn't count on all his players on today's game day. Our head coach did not change the starting line-up compared to the match against Metz, as he started with Schatzl, Oftedal, Brattset, Ryu, Kristiansen, Fodor with six in the field and Glauser in goal. Although the first two goals were scored by the visitors, our team quickly turned the game around and in the 10th minute we were leading to 9 - 7. After a quarter of an hour we increased the advantage and were now leading by four goals (13 - 9). In the last ten minutes, Győr led by six goals (17-11) and the scoreboard showed 22 - 14 at the break.

Laura Glauser was replaced by Silje Solberg, who started with a save... Csenge Fodor scored in the 41st minute to give the team a ten goal lead, 28 - 18. In the rest of the half, the gap between the two teams widened further, and the last ten minutes ended with Győr leading to 38 - 21. Kyra Sztankovics was also given a chance to play and she rewarded it with goals. In the end, Győr won the match by thirteen goals, 40 - 27.

Abros Martín: "We know very well how difficult it is to be after the COVID situation, training is also difficult to keep up and it is not easy to bring the players back to the right level physically. We could not start the match as we had planned, Krim caused us a lot of difficulties. We corrected the initial mistakes, we could play fast and like to score goals, but as soon as we made mistakes the opponent caught up again. It was important for us that several of our players were able to return to play with us."

Crina Pintea: "Our team did well today and the returners were able to come on the pitch, which made it easier for us to distribute the minutes. The team is on track to achieve its goals."
