Another important, world-class player of Győri Audi ETO KC has decided to extend her contract. The club's management, with President Dr. Csaba Bartha at the helm, continues to follow the club's long-term strategy and - in order to ensure that the club remains at the top - has agreed with Stine Oftedal to continue.

The priority for Győri Audi ETO KC remains to develop a framework in the medium and long term that is capable of achieving the highest professional goals. In order to ensure the success of this strategy, our club has started negotiations in time with our key players to extend their contracts. We have reached an agreement with our centreback Stine Oftedal, who has been voted the best player in the world, to continue.

"I am very happy that Stine Oftedal will continue her career in Green and White. She needs no introduction as she is one of the best players in the world and a defining athlete of her time. Negotiations on the contract extension were concluded quickly and we reached an easy agreement on the continuation, as the will of the parties was aligned from the very first moment." - began Dr. Csaba Bartha. "Stine joined Győri Audi ETO KC in 2017 and I believe she is one of the best signings of my presidential career at the club so far. Her balanced performance and commitment are a guarantee for us and we believe she has found her place in Győr - it is no coincidence that she has now extended her contract with the club for a second time. In addition to her success with the Norwegian national team, she has also reached fantastic heights at individual and team level during her years in Győr, and she is now one of the best players in the world. Thanks to her personality, hard work and humility towards handball, she is a true leader and role model for future generations. The extension of her contract is an extremely important step towards achieving our long-term goals. I am pleased to report that we have signed a 1+1 year contract." - said the President of our club.

"I am very happy and proud to be a member of Győri Audi ETO KC and I will continue to be so in the future. It is a childhood dream come true to play here in Győr and it is a great honour for me to continue this dream. The club, the city and the fans are really special to me. I am confident that we will achieve great success together, not only this year but also in the future." - said Stine Oftedal.

Since joining the club, the 30-year-old player has been named to the Women's EHF Champions League All Star team for the 2018/2019 season, the World Player of the Year in 2019 and the All Star team for the 2020 European Women's Handball Championship.
